Band Lab

In Band Lab, I learned educational techniques used when teaching band and orchestra classes and practiced integrating them into lesson plans that guided teaching episodes.

In this lesson, I was tasked to plan a 10-minute lesson that followed a “whole-part-whole” framework. I incorporated many different educational techniques, like visual mapping, audiation, echoing, guiding questions, comparing/contrasting, student modeling, teacher modeling, and more. I was also challenged to listen and respond to reading issues from my band, and problem solve in the moment.
